Obituary for Katherine Huston Recker ’37

At Wooster, Katherine was involved in Big Sister, theatre presentations, women’s glee club, Delta Delta Rho, and the YWCA cabinet. She graduated with a degree in English. After graduation she attended Western Reserve University for her M.A., and taught  English, Latin and Speech in high schools and at Pace University. Katherine was involved in several church activities. She was president of Lutheran Women of Ohio, a member of the National Mission Board of the Lutheran Church, and president of Interfaith Council. She also received the Volunteer of the Year Award for the State of Indiana for her work directing the Choraliers. Katherine’s daughter, stepdaughter, daughter-in-law, 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren survive her.
