Obituary for Michael A. Kubico Sr. '40

A chemistry major, he belonged to the Chemistry Club and First Section. Michael earned a Ph.D. from Northwestern U and worked in marketing and as a research chemist with the DuPont Co., assisting in developing several patented products. He served as president of the Plastic Pioneers of America before retiring in 1972. Michael was an avid golfer and served multiple terms as president of the Newark Country Club. He also enjoyed carpentry, drama (winning a state award), music, and crossword puzzles. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Helen Smith Kubico ’40, four children, including Michael Jr. ’67 and Stephen ’70, and two grandchildren.
